WORKPLACE MEDIATION
PURPOSE
Conflict in the workplace is extremely costly, creating low morale, poor employee performance, reduced profits and may even lead to damaging and costly litigation.
Mediation offers an opportunity to not only solve the issues that cause the problems and create a plan to prevent future conflicts from arising, but it also offers a means for open and honest dialogue that promotes improved relationships and performance in the future.
PROCESS
Mediation provides a process for issues to be worked out in a collaborative process and fosters open dialogue to determine needs, to find common ground, to advance projects, to build and strengthen relationships, to create awareness and to craft unique solutions that meet the needs of the participants. The results are constructive and sustaining, unlike the solutions imposed upon parties by judges and arbitrators.
Mediation offers an opportunity to restore and strengthen relationships; or, in the alternative, to have the relationship dissolved in a cooperative manner, if the parties choose.
Mediation is and appropriate and a constructive dispute resolution process for most workplace disputes and a high percentage of mediated cases reach settlement.
Mediation may be used for:
• Employer/Employee disputes
• Co-worker disputes
• Management disputes
• Business partner disputes
• Team member disputes
• Customer disputes
